Super Bowl Gossip Recap

Super Bowl Gossip Recap
By Amber Eberle (Clubben.com)
Super Bowl XLVI is in the books, and if you're like most of America you probably tuned in- if not for the game itself, then for the entertainment. This year the big game broke records, with 111.3 million viewers. While it was not the most exciting Super Bowl I have ever watched, the fourth quarter was interesting enough to make any football fan happy, especially those rooting for the New York Giants.

As expected, the Half-Time show was the huge production that it is every year. But I can't say I was a huge fan of Madonna's performance. People seem to be pretty evenly divided on this matter- they either think that Madonna killed it or that the show was awkward and disappointing. I am in the second camp. I did find the performance entertaining, but for the wrong reasons. Madonna is an icon, but she is also 53 years old- 3/4 just seemed like a middle age woman desperately tying to act three decades younger than she really is. The choreography seemed a bit ridiculous, and the lip-synching was painfully obvious. A couple of weeks ago Madonna told a reporter that seeing her live in concert is worth every penny of the $300 ticket price; I don't think that I am going to be parting with my pennies any time in the future.

Apparently not enough people answered Gisele Bundchen's e-mail prayer request- her husband and his team lost to the New York Giants again in the Super Bowl. After the game Bundchen lashed out at hecklers, saying "My husband cannot f#%*ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times". She is a wife standing by her husband, but after that comment things might be awkward the next time she attends any of the Patriots' team events.

Hollywood stars attending the Super Bowl included: Katy Perry, Nikki Reed, Ana Faris, Maria Menounos, and Jessica Simpson. Simpson, who is expecting her first child, told reporters she was cheering for the Patriots because she is a Cowboys fan and could never cheer for the Giants. I am surprised that she is still a Cowboys fan after the way Cowboy's QB Tony Romo callously broke up with her.
Stay tuned for more Super Bowl related gossip and drama!
